Dinner Church

Mondays 5:30-7:00pm

Mondays are "Sundays" at Luther House as our dinner table becomes the Lord's table too. We worship as the first Christians did, as part of a family meal with friends both old and new.  We gather to hear God's promises and to eat the Bread of Life and drink the Cup of Salvation. In the power of the Spirit we strengthen each other to live bravely, hopefully, compassionately.

Luther House Café

Tuesdays 10:00am-noon

On Tuesday mornings we serve up a taste of New Orlean's French Quarter right from our front lawn.  Students who pass by Luther House on their way to and from class stop to enjoy our freshly made beignets (French donuts), café au lait (coffee and cream) and some friendly conversation. Our aim is to show our neighbors some unexpected kindness, make friends, and have a bit of fun while we're at it.

Building Bridges

Dates and times vary

Building Bridges is an interfaith, multicultural conversation we host on the OSU campus to explore unique values in connection with timely topics addressed in special campus lectures and presentations. Differences are often a breeding ground for fear, conflict, and violence in American society. But they don't have to be.  We believe sharing each other's values can turn differences into building blocks for friendship and greater understanding.

Service Projects

We partner with Westminster House campus ministry twice a month to prepare and serve a meal for Stone Soup. Other service projects include tree planting at OSU's College of Forestry tree farm, helping with Sunday School and outreach ministries at Grace Lutheran Church, and other projects as need and interests arise.

Social Events

Building friendships that last is key to the work of Luther House. Many occasions are provided throughout the year to bring people together around fun, food and celebration. Trivia nights, seasonal parties for Halloween or Epiphany, going to a sporting event, or biking or hiking are among the recent successful events.
